Logged-in users in WordPress with the sufficient access rights usually see a small “Edit” link at the bottom of every page in WordPress. This link allows to get to the “Edit” screen very quick. At the same time, users who are not logged-in (like regular site visitors) or users without sufficient access rights will not see this link .
In case you would like to disable this link on your website, please do the following
- Navigate to Appearance->Editor in your WordPress Dashboard.
- Open the functions.php file within the theme folder for editing. You can also access this file via FTP or in hosting control panel File Manager.
- Add the following line of code to the very bottom to hide the edit link:
- Save changes in a file when you are done and check your website.
