PrestaShop 1.6.x. How to install template with sample data using sample data installer

After PrestaShop engine installation a default PrestaShop theme appears at the site front-end:

If you want your site to look as on Live demo, you need to install a theme and import sample data into your store.
Make sure that your template package and sources/sample_data folder (inside it) are already unzipped on your computer.

1. In your PrestaShop admin panel go to Preferences-> Themes.To add a new theme, click Add new theme button at the top of the page:
2. Click Add file button to import a theme from your computer. Choose themexxx.zip file from the themeinstallator folder of your template package (where themexxx is the name of your theme). Click Open and Save the changes: 
3. Once, the theme has been uploaded,  it will appear at the back-end in Preferences-> Themes. Hover the cursor over the theme preview and click Use the theme button to enable it. 
4. You’ll see the screen with the information about the modules used in the theme. Click Save button to continue. 
5. The pop-up with the message about successful theme activation will appear. To finish the installation click Finish button. 

Now, you need to Import sample data.

1. In your admin panel go to Sample Data Install-> Import Data. 
2. Drag and drop all the files from sources/sample_data/sample_data folder of your template package into the browser window. 
3. You will see the pop-up window offering different types of sample data installation. By default, it’s set to Load all content type. It means that all sample data will be imported to your store. If that’s what you need, click the Confirm button. 
4. If you do not need to install all sample data, uncheck Load all content, choose from the required options below by checking options the same way and confirm your choice. 
5. Wait till the files are uploaded.
6. Click Continue Install button. 
7. Sample data installer will automatically configure your store and other modules. This can take several minutes. 
8. After the sample data installation, you need to regenerate images. Click Go To Regenerate Page button. 
9.  To regenerate images click Regenerate thumbnails button. 
10. Refresh the front-end of your website. Now your template is installed with sample data.
