How to manage sidebars

This tutorial will show you how to add sidebar(s) to the page and change its width.

The goal of the sidebar is to show modules that are not included in the main content of a page. Usually, you can see there the links to various areas of your website, advertisements social media profiles, etc. These items can be easily added to the sidebar of a theme using sidebars modules positions.

1. Open a module you need in your admin panel under Extensions->Modules.  In order to add it to sidebar area, you should assign it to aside-right and/or aside-left positions.  Re-check, please that module you need is assigned to the needed menu item in Module assignment section to see it on the correct page.You have the possibility to change your sidebar’s width. This step can be obtained within your template style options.
2. Open the Extensions->Templates->Styles. Choose the template style used for a page you working with. Now you can see Layout tab where you can set the number of columns you want to your left or right sidebar, depending on the position you chose previously. Once finished, you can open your page and see the module in a sidebar with the width you’ve set.
   
   
3. You can switch position of the module from aside-right to aside-left and vice versa by changing the position of a particular module in the module manager.
