We put a lot of efforts into our websites so it is really important to preserve our hard work from any danger, and a backup is an exciting opportunity to be sure that your website is safe despite anything. Of course, the hosting can do a backup for you but we all know that if you want a thing done well, do it yourself!
Performing a backup is not as complicated as you might imagine and today, we will learn how to do this magic trick in two steps!
- First of all, you need access your web server. You can use your hosting control panel file manager or FTP. There, just select website files (usually, they are located under the public_html directory), compress them to zip and download to your computer.
- After that, navigate to PHPMyAdmin tool, choose your database (the name of your database is mentioned in the configuration.php file), and export it. Save an SQL file to your computer as well.
Once those steps are complete, we highly recommend that you upload the files to your flash drive, it’s always better safe than sorry.
Congratulations! Now, you know how to keep your work in safety!
