How to Upload the dump.sql Manually

Here you can find the instructions on how to install sample data.
Please DO NOT import sample data if you have a live website as it will completely replace your database contents, and all your website data will be LOST.

Magento template package contains the sample data file (dump.sql). This file is located under the /sources/sample_data folder of your template. It allows you to load sample data, so that your website looks exactly like our demo template.

  • dump.sql — the database backup file. Contains the theme sample content.
Do not import dump.sql if you already have the data on your site. By importing dump.sql all the products will be erased from your store. If you do not want to install sample data, use clean database while installing Magento. Skip the sample data installation step.
