Magento 2. Import Pages, Static Blocks and Widgets

Here you can find the instructions on how to import theme pages, static blocks and widgets in Magento 2.
Note, the Sample Data Import is not available for all Magento themes.

In order to make your theme look exactly like on the template Live Demo, you should first import the store pages, static blocks and widgets.

Please follow the instructions below in order to import store pages, static blocks and widgets.

Pages Import

1. Navigate to the Stores > Settings > Configuration section.

2. Then choose the TEMPLATEMONSTER > Theme Options in the left side menu and you’ll move to the module settings interface.

3. Click on the Store View: Default Config. Select your Website (e.g. Lingerie, Medical) from the option dropdown.

4. Confirm the scope switching in the pop-up window. Press “OK” to confirm.

5. Go to the Sample Data Installer tab > CMS pages.

6. Select files you want to import. You need to select Cms Page.

7. Set the Override option to “Yes” if you want to replace your store pages with new ones, in case pages have the same key.

8. Press the Import button.

9. You will see the confirmation message. The message will inform you about the total number of imported pages.

Static blocks Import

When you are done with the pages import, you need to import the static blocks. The procedure is similar to the previous.

1. Go to the Sample Data Installer tab > CMS Blocks.

2. Select files you want to import. You need to select Cms Block.

3. Set the Override option to “Yes” if you want to replace your blocks with new ones, in case pages have the same key.

4. Press the Import button.

5. You will see the confirmation message. The message will inform you about the total number of imported blocks.

Widgets Import

Now you need to import the widgets.

1. Go to the Sample Data Installer tab > Widgets.

2. Select the layout (if you have any) you want to import widgets from.

3. Set the Override option to “Yes” if you want to replace your widgets with new ones.

4. Press the Import button.

5. You will see the confirmation message. The message will inform you about the total number of imported widgets.

6. Remember to save the settings.
